SPSB organises multiple beautification drives

On Sunday, NGO Swachh Pune Swachh Bharat (SPSB) and SWAG of India’s (Swachh Warriors And Guards) wing made paintings on the walls of Shivajinagar railway station. According to the organisers, 50 volunteers participated to create paintings depicting nature.

Pune: On Sunday, NGO Swachh Pune Swachh Bharat (SPSB) and SWAG of India’s (Swachh Warriors And Guards) wing made paintings on the walls of Shivajinagar railway station. According to the organisers, 50 volunteers participated to create paintings depicting nature.

On May 18, the Wanwadi ward office of Pune Municipal Corporation had requested the SPSB to carry out a cleanliness drive at a canal road at BT Kawade road. The collaborative effort included volunteers from SPSB along with health inspector and the employees, who cleaned a 500-metre patch of the canal road. The canal originates from Jambhulkar mala located at BT Kawade road and ends at Cantonment. 

Pradeepkumar Raut, Health Inspector, Wanwadi ward office, Prabhag 25, said, “The collected dry waste has to be sent to the recycling plant at Ramtekdi. After the drive was successful, we saw that a tempo of debris had come to dump it at the canal road. It was fortunate that we were present. We fined them Rs 500 and took down the vehicle number.”
