SPPU will offer a new course with UOM, IISER

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), University of Melbourne (UOM) and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will jointly offer a Bachelors of Science (BSc) in environment science course from the academic year 2018-19.

The course will be regulated by SPPU. Students who enroll for this course will be guided and taught by professors based in Univeristy of Melbourne and IISER. Professors of IISER will physically take classes for the students in the university, while professors from Melbourne will be connected online, informed officials from the university.

Eligibility criteria
Students who have completed their HSC in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB), Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) are eligible to enroll for the course.

Structure of syllabus
In the first two years of graduation, the syllabus will be based on ‘core science’ topics, while in the third year, it will focus on components and topics of environmental science. 

With the changing environment and conditions on the earth, the updated and new syllabus of environment science will benefit students who want to pursue their career in this field, stated the notification released by the varsity. The varsity has started calling for admission, therefore, students can find the online forms on the Pune university website www.unipune.ac.in.
