SPPU provides documents to student

Pune: Taking the cognisance of the media reports of Vikram Kamble, a student preparing for a competitive examination, lost all his important documents and mark sheets in the fire, which broke out at Patil Estate on November 20, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) swung into action and handed over him the copies of all his documents.

The university handed over all his academic documents to him on Friday before he approached them. Kamble was worried that he may not be able to appear for competitive examinations without these valuable certificates. A section of media had reported about his ordeal where he had expressed his desire to become an IAS officer but his dreams were burnt in the flames.

“After the reports appeared in the media, SPPU took an initiative and prepared all required documents from leaving certificate to mark sheets and gave it to him. He was overwhelmed after receiving those documents,” said Vice-Chancellor of SPPU Nitin Karmalkar.

“It was our duty to help him out of this situation,” added Karmalkar.

Karmalkar had immediately informed the Examination Department, while Controller of Examination Ashok Chavan and his team swung into action to prepare all required documents.

Kamble hails from Akola. He is currently preparing for competitive exams and was staying with his grandmother in slums in Patil Estate.

“I was disheartened after I lost my academic documents in the fire. But when officials from the university called and informed that they will provide all required documents, I was in a state of disbelief and was happy at the same time. I am thankful to the VC and university authorities,” said Kamble.
