SPPU to organise a GST workshop for girl students

Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Career Counselling Group in collaboration with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Pune branch and Western India Regional Council (WIRC) have organised a GST training workshop for girl students studying in third year B.Com and second year of M.Com. 

The workshop is scheduled to start on July 1. While President Ramnath Kovind would address the participants through a web cast on July 1, the subsequent sessions will be held on the Saturday of each of the following four weeks (July 7, 14, 21 and 28) from 8 am to noon. 

The workshop - ‘Empowerment of Girl Students through Skill Development’ has been organised at Garware College of Commerce, Modern College, Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC), Ness Wadia College of Commerce, Sir Parshurambhau College, St Mira’s College of Girls and Marathwada Mitramandal College of Commerce (MMCC). 

The necessary course material will be provided to the participants by ICAI. As the institute has completed 70 years this year, the workshops have been organised considering the theme of ‘women empowerment’. 
The participating girls will be charged a nominal fee of Rs 100 each for refreshment and the stationery provided at the workshop. 

The participants will be guided on several topics like input tax credit, invoice and records, GST return, collection of GST, etc. 

College principal can submit the names of 10 girls each online by using the college login ID. 

After the five-day workshop, ICAI along with SPPU will help the participants find more employment opportunities in July-August. The participants will also be given an ‘E-Learning Certificate’.
