SpiceJet flights to Chennai and Goa delayed; passengers fume
SpiceJet flight number SG 423 departed from Pune at 6.06 am. Similarly, flight number SG 530 from Chennai to Pune departed at 9.10 am.
PUNE: More than 300 passengers travelling by various flights of SpiceJet were stranded at Pune airport on Monday morning as Pune-Chennai, Chennai-Pune and Pune-Goa flights got delayed for 3-4 hours.
The airline said the delay was due to technical issues.
SpiceJet flight number SG 423 (scheduled departure 3.10 am) departed from Pune at 6.06 am. Similarly, flight number SG 530 from Chennai to Pune (scheduled departure 5.15 am) departed at 9.10 am.
Flight SG 516 from Pune to Goa (scheduled departure at 12.20 pm) was delayed by 1 hour 40 minutes.
Passengers took to social media to voice their problems.
“What chaos caused by you people at Pune airport. Passengers on Chennai bound flight waiting for the past 2 and a half hours without knowing when they would be boarding. Very bad experience,” said Pushdeep Bahade on Twitter.
Another passenger Akshay Baheti tweeted “What the…. text, call again for the revised timing? How irresponsible of you guys! Dis is d worst air service wid the worst ground staff!”
Meanwhile, Spicejet spokesperson said, “SpiceJet Flight SG 423, operating from Pune-Chennai, dated December 2, was delayed due to a technical issue at Pune. The same aircraft in its return leg operates SG 530 from Chennai to Pune. Consequently, due to the earlier delay, the flight’s departure time from Chennai was postponed by an hour to reach Pune after 10.30 am (NOTAM period). Flight SG 516
operating from Pune to Goa dated December 2 was delayed due to a technical issue. SpiceJet apologises to its passengers for the delay caused due to technical issues.”
