Pune: "Special camps should be organised across the state to resolve the grievances of power consumers, and clear instructions should be given to the local people's representatives to resolve their grievances with priority," said Maharashtra's Energy Minister Nitin Raut.
Minister Raut had visited Nagpur and had a meeting during which the Principal Secretary (Energy) Dinesh Waghmare, and MSEDCL Director (Operations) Dinesh Chandra Sabu, were present.
"There is some confusion due to consolidated electricity bills that have come during the lockdown period, and it has created some doubt among consumers. To remove this confusion, it is necessary to have a transparent way of dealing with it, and immediately resolving those issues on a priority basis" said Raut.
Raut has further appealed to citizens to check their electricity bill on the link: https://billcal.mahadiscom.in/consumerbill and in case of any doubts, they should contact the nearest MSEDCL office to resolve the issue. He also assured that MSEDCL is committed to satisfying the consumers.
He also suggested that an all-inclusive WhatsApp group of people's representatives, eminent citizens and journalists from rural and urban areas should be formed at the sub-divisional level to provide complete information on electricity bills and solve problems as well as doubts related to electricity.
According to the scheme "Government at your doorstep", a large number of citizens visit both urban and rural areas every week. The Energy Minister has also instructed to provide extensive publicity through various platforms and social media about the measures taken to resolve the grievances.
MSEDCL has informed all the Chief Engineers of the state and has issued a letter with direction to solve the grievances of customers sooner.
