SILC to hold public speaking workshop

Pune: Sakal International Learning Centre (SILC) will organise a two-day workshop on Hi-Impact Presentations skills and public speaking on July 29 and 30.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to Identify the importance of making effective presentations, know the ways to create impressions: how we look, what we say, how we say, how we act, describe the importance of verbal and nonverbal behavior while making presentations, use visual aids i.e. Power Point Presentations more effectively, props etc. plan a presentation flow that will create an impact on team members, supervisors and clients; opening, body and the closing, deliver an extempore presentation.

Presentations skills and public speaking skills are very useful in many aspects of work and life. Effective presentations and public speaking skills are important for every aspect of the business; sales and selling, training, meetings, managing people and others.

Developing the confidence and capability to give good presentations, and to stand up in front of an audience and speak well, are also extremely helpful competencies for self-development too. The formats and purposes of presentations can be very different, for example oral (spoken), multimedia (using various media - visuals, audio). PowerPoint presentations, short impromptu presentations, long planned presentations, educational or training sessions, lectures, and simply giving a talk on a subject to a group on a voluntary basis for pleasure. Learn screen writing

Pune: The Sakal International Learning Centre has organised a training programme on screen writing for four weekends starting on July 29 from 10 am to 5 pm.
Screenwriters Prasad Mirasdar and Chandrashekhar Joshi will conduct these sessions. The course fee is Rs 11,000.

Today, digital short films and movies are gaining importance. There is a great demand for stories and screenplays for TV series and short series on media like YouTube on the Internet.

For script writing, it is necessary to learn the techniques of writing a story and a script from a concept. Participants will be taught how script writing progresses right from a concept to development of actual script. The course includes information on visual language, conception and the journey of storylines, transformation of the story to a film, personality characterisation and dialogue writing.
