Shivajinagar ST stand shifting delayed

Pune: The shifting of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus stand from Shivajinagar to Aarey Field in Wakadewadi will be delayed. It was expected that the stand would be shifted between Navratri and Diwali, as the work is almost in the last phase.

MSRTC Pune Divisional Controller Yamini Joshi said, “It was expected that the work of Aarey field would finish by September 30. The MahaMetro administration had assured us of this. But the work is still pending. It will take more time to finish.”

Shivajinagar depot, one of the busiest depots of MSRTC in Pune, was to be shifted due to the metro railway work in Shivajinagar.  The shifting was announced in September 2018.

A week ago, a senior officer of MSRTC said that the work will take 10 more days and the stand will be shifted before Diwali. However, completion of work will be delayed as work on platforms is still going on.
