Sesquicentennial Celebrations Of SQAE(A) Khadki Organised In The City

PUNE: To mark the 150 glorious years of existence of Senior Quality Assurance Establishment (SQAE) (Armaments) under the Director General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), which came up with Ammunition Factory. Khadki (AFK) in 1869,  a programme was held at Kedari Garden in Wanawadi on October 30. 

SQAE provides quality assurance for all the ammunition stores manufactured at AFK before the same are released to the Defence forces.

During the programme, ‘First Day Cover’ and information brochure was released by Maj Gen RK Malhotra, Controller, CQA(A) Khadki. 

Lt Gen VA Bhat (Retd), ex-DGQA, Col KJ Sarvaiya SQAO, Capt Syeda Tanveer of Army Postal Service and RS Gaikwad, seniormost retired employee were present on the occasion.

Various dignitaries from nearby defence establishments were present on the occasion. Retired service and civilian officers along with retired staff of the establishment were also presented with a small token of appreciation.

The family members of ex-employees late BN Nimal and late Joseph Philips, both 1936 Olympic Gold Medalists in Hockey,  were felicitated.  AP Parate, Master Craftsman, was awarded best employee award of Rs 5,000 sponsored by Brig George Mathew (Retd) and the establishment.

Employees who have completed 25 years of dedicated service in the organisation were also felicitated.

The SQAE has also adopted two schools for specially abled children namely Om Sai Sanstha and Dnyan Gangotri. Specially abled children from these schools had also given scintillating performances during the programme.
