Security guard sentenced 10 yrs’ RI for raping MNC executive

Pune: A special court has sentenced a security guard to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a woman executive of a multinational company inside the Aamby Valley resort in 2010.

Special Judge RV Adone also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on the convict Dharmendrakumar Rambhau Chaudhari (28), a native of Uttar Pradesh.

He was arrested by Pune rural after the victim identified his voice sample from that of three others at the resort.

Then 29-year-old, the victim was part of a 270-member group, including 30 women, which had participated in a pan-India conference of a food conglomerate at Aamby Valley resort on December 9, 2010.

According to the victim’s statement, she had returned to her room at midnight. She was alone and forgot to lock the room. Between 2.30 am and 3 am, a man entered the room, switched off the lights and raped her at knife-point. She had lodged a complaint with the Paud police station under Pune rural police.

Additional public prosecutor Leena Pathak examined 15 witnesses to prove the guilt of the accused.
