Pune: Sarhad, Pune, is all set to organise its first Jammu and Kashmir International Film Festival (JAKIFF) in Pune from February 4 to 6.
This three-day film festival, organised in association with Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and National Film Archive of India (NFAI), will screen a total number of 18 films at the NFAI auditorium.
Talking about the festival, Sanjay Nahar, Founder-President, said, “This is the first time that we are hosting this festival in Pune and are planning to continue this in coming years. The festival is a platform for young filmmakers from the Valley to showcase their talent and films that talk about the culture and life in Kashmir Valley.”
He further added, “We want to spread Kashmiri culture across the country. Pune, being the intellectual capital of Maharashtra, is the perfect place to hold this festival, as it houses places like FTII and NFAI.”
The opening of this film festival will be graced by Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, advisor to the Governor, and Vijay Dhar, who started a multiplex in Srinagar.
