PIMPRI: The State government has appointed former president of BJP’s Pimpri Chinchwad city unit Sadashiv Khade as Chairman of Pimpri Chinchwad New Township Development Authority (PCNDTA-Pradhikaran).
The appointment of Khade as Pradhikaran chief came as a relief for BJP loyalists. Many key posts in the city including the mayor, deputy mayor have been bagged by people who were earlier with the Congress or the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
It is after many years that a political appointment has been made to this post. The Pradhikaran chairman’s post was earlier held by Pune divisional commissioner.
Due to infighting between the Congress and the NCP, no political appointment to the post were made. The BJP-Shiv Sena government which came to power in the state too had not appointed any person to the vacant post.
Khade has been a staunch supporters of former Union Minister Gopinath Munde. He is supporter of Rural Development Minister Pankaja Munde. He has served as member of the Education Board of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
