RTO takes action against private buses

PUNE: The officials of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have taken action against private bus operators on Monday and seized 27 buses running without valid documents.

During the inspection, they also found that the length of some buses was longer than the normal size.

“The action started on Sunday night and ended on Monday afternoon. The buses were plying without a valid permit. Also, it was found that some buses were longer than normal. Out of 27 buses, 18 are registered from other states and nine are from Maharashtra,” said Deputy RTO Vinod Sagre.

The special drive was started by both the Regional Transport Office s on the same day. Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO has taken action against 18 buses. Out of these four have been seized.

The Pune RTO has taken action against 43 buses. Out of these, 33 are from other states including Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
