Rlys will carry relief to the stricken states
The Central Railways will transport the relief material to Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, by coaching trains (parcel van/VP/SLR, etc.) and goods trains including in less than standard composition rakes free of cost.
PUNE: The Pune Railway Division of the Central Railway will carry relief material free of cost to Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, the states that have been affected due to cyclone Fani.
The Central Railway will transport the relief material to the affected states by coaching trains (parcel van/VP/SLR, etc.) and goods trains including in less than standard composition rakes free of cost.
Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway Sunil Udasi said, “All government organisations across the jurisdiction of Central Railway can book relief material free of cost to the aforementioned affected states. Other organisations, as deemed fit by divisional railway managers of Mumbai, Bhusaval, Nagpur, Pune and Solapur divisions may also avail of this provision. However, the consignor/consignee shall have to be district magistrate/ deputy commissioner in whose jurisdiction the dispatching/ receiving station is situated.”
“No ancillary charges like demurrage/ wharfage, etc., are to be charged for the transportation of relief material. Notwithstanding anything above, the Railways shall reserve the right to take appropriate decisions as per extant policy on the subject of transportation of relief material. This will be in effect till June 2 or till further orders whichever is earlier,” Udasi said.
