Rly passengers to get 5% benefit on booking tickets through app

Pune: The railway passengers travelling with unreserved tickets can get a 5 per cent discount on booking tickets through the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) mobile app. The Pune railway division has started a campaign and is running special awareness campaigns among passengers.

The app was started a couple of years ago as a step towards becoming paperless by making available unreserved tickets for suburban and non-suburban stations.

As per information shared by Pune railway division, “Under the campaign, the use of UTS mobile app was given to the railway passengers by the employees of the commercial department at the suburban stations of Shivajinagar, Dapodi, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Akurdi, Talegaon, etc. A demo on a mobile phone was given to the passengers. The passengers can get a special discount of 5 per cent on booking tickets through the app.”

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SrDCM) Sunil Mishra has requested the passengers to take advantage of this easy facility to get unreserved tickets so that the passengers will not have to spend time in long queues.

More than 150 people, including students of Pimpri Chinchwad Engineering College and staff of Income Tax Department, Akurdi, were informed about the use of the UTS mobile app and its benefits. More than 200 students of Bal Vikas Mandir School of Baramati were also informed about this.

The UTS can be implemented from mobile apps by going to Google Play Store, Window Store, Apple Store and downloading it and registering it.
