Regn Dept starts sharing data online

PUNE: In a new initiative, the Stamps & Registration Department (IGR) has started sharing their tenant registration data with Pune police and soon, tenants may be exempted from visiting police stations for mandatory verification or submitting their details to the police.

The officials said details submitted to the Registration Department, such as name proof, past residence address etc is now shared with the police department. Officials connected the iSarita application, which accepts details of tenants, to the online police verification system and thus the information is passed on to police officials. This facility is for those tenants who do e-registration.

The process gives police instant access to the data. IGR officials felt citizens will feel encouraged to opt for e-registration if they are exempted from police verification. Police officials said it is mandatory for tenants to share their information with the city police and going ahead owners and tenants will save their time.
