Puneite stuck due to Hurricane Irma is safe

Pune: Yashvant Surwase, who was stuck in Caribbean Islands due to Hurricane Irma, has contacted his family members through a satellite phone and informed them about his safety. This has come as a big relief to his family and relatives.

In a one-minute call, he told his family that he is safe but the situation at the Hurricane Irma-affected country is bad. Yashvant (28), who works as a store manager in Kingston, last contacted his family members on Thursday night informing them that the hurricane has caused severe damage in the area where he lived.
His sister, Ashwini Shevale told Sakal Times that Yashvant had called up his family informing them that he is safe.

Another person from Pune, Dipak Mirchandani, who is stuck on St Maarten, posted his experience on social media platform, stating, “So far we have no news from the Indian govt about what they can do to help Indians stuck in St Maarten. Not everyone may share this but remember this God forbid this could be you."

"This was a record-breaking hurricane. Can you please share this on your wall at least once - we need the government to do something instead of the only Indian representative for the govt asking us to go to hell!” the post reads.
