Pune University set to change second year UG and PG syllabus, firm on conducting last year examination

Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) would be changing the syllabus for second year undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This was decided in a meeting of the Academic Council held on Saturday.

The second year UG and PG students will now have a credit-based system of evaluation. The university will also be starting several new curricula in the coming academic year.

FINAL YEAR EXAMINATION
The examination of the final year students will be conducted from July 16 to 31. The university has cancelled the examinations for the first and second year students. However, the State Government has not yet allowed the final year examination to be cancelled, so they will be conducted by the university.

The first and second year students will be promoted to the next years on the basis of their internal assessment. The backlog papers of the final year students will be conducted between July 1 and 15. The question papers will be drafted and assessed at the college level itself.

“A draft for the final year examination has been created, and has been approved by the academic council. Students’ convenience and social distancing will be considered while conducting the examinations,” SPPU Pro-VC NS Umrani said.
