Pune temperature to drop

PUNE: Pune witnessed a chilly day on Friday with the day temperature hovering over 29.2 degrees Celsius. The night temperature was 18.1 degrees Celsius. 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature in the city will continue to be around 30 degrees Celsius. 

On November 16, the sky in the city will be partly cloudy with day temperature will be around 30 degrees Celsius and night temperature will be around 18 degrees Celsius. 

However, from November 17, the sky will remain clear. IMD has predicted a drop in night temperature to as low as 15 degrees Celsius till November 21.

The lowest minimum temperature in the State on Friday was 14.5 degree Celsius in Nagpur, whereas the highest maximum temperature was 34.3 degrees Celsius at Alibaug. IMD has not issued any warnings for the State.

Across India, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the plains was 11 degrees Celius at Betul in west Madhya Pradesh and Sundergarh in Odisha.

According to IMD, the Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan and neighbourhood persists.

The associated trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies also persists.  

Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy falls likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh till November 16 evening. 

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely at isolated places over Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on November 16. 

Moderate to dense fog is very likely in isolated pockets over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the same time.
