Pune: Pune based five students from Management studies have come up with an innovate way to sanitise mobile handsets, pen, stapler, keyboard, car and another assessorial within span of ten minutes.
Since quite some time now, we are all immersed in insane graphs of COVID-19 with the rise of coronavirus pandemic, its hotspots and others. From staying home and stay safe the government is now advising all to stay strong and stay safe. Only cleaning hands might not be enough, what you carry in them, should also be sanitised.
While the use of hand sanitisers or soaps to clean the hands and maintain hygiene is for sure needed but then what about all those gadgets which we constantly use while in the office especially mobile phones, pens, paper, staplers or even the mouse and the keyboard.
After a truly innovative application of simple sensors in the form of a proximity alarm to maintain social distance and after the brilliant blend of social-entrepreneurship and supply-chain-management to provide N95 masks, the students Management of Business Administration (MBA)(I&E) of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) in Pune have risen to the occasion by designing and creating an innovative side-table with UV-Sanitiser and Air-Purifier – El Cleair – which can be used to sanitise mobile phones, car keys, purse, pouch, wallets. Their product has a HEPA-standard air-filter and their product is tested and certified by a US-headquartered research & testing body of laboratories!
WoodBulk Furniture is a business venture by five students naming Adhiraaj Sinh Solanki, Mudit Sharma, Rajdeep Nath, Rohan Bora and Tanzeel Hussain pursuing their MBA(I&E). They are an enterprise in new-age designing-manufacturing of furniture, home-decor accessories and interior decoration.
Students talking to Sakal Times shared, “Due to lockdown we stayed back in the college hostel and worked on product. We were continually focused efforts thinking how can “furniture” be pivoted to suit the current times. An answer was found in one of the partners’ old associates. This happened to be an entity, based in another state, with an expertise in electronics like bulbs, tube-lights, surface-mounted lights and light-bollards, to name a few. Such can be sanitised in span of 10 minutes”
They added, “Having technical knowledge of the sterilisation- and germicidal-potential of Ultraviolet light, WoodBulk Furniture was of the opinion that collaboration with another entity with ready-to-go manufacturing capability even in COVID-19 times was near-perfect marriage. This property of UV light could be judiciously used in a ‘sanitisation drawer’, as part of a new design for a side-table.”
“The electronics-expertise of the manufacturer also bore another fruit: air purification. The product thus has a HEPA-standard air-filter as well. Furthermore, the product is tested and certified by US-headquartered research and testing body of laboratories, thanks to the electronics manufacturer, Rock Forest Technologies,” they concluded.
