Pune station gets mobile charging kiosk

PUNE: In a first of its kind in Central Railway, the Pune Railway Division has installed digital mobile charging kiosks at six stations including Pune station with the aim of providing better facilities to passengers.

As per information shared by Pune Railway Division Spokesperson Manoj Jhawar, “Digital mobile charging kiosks will help passengers to charge their phones easily. The division has installed kiosks at Pune, Shivajinagar, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Kolhapur and Miraj stations. Pune station is getting 10 mobile charging kiosks, while Kolhapur, Miraj, Shivajinagar, Pimpri and Chinchwad stations will get them soon.”

“Every kiosk will have 24 mobile charging points available with lockers facility. It is a fully automated system in which passengers can visit these kiosks. Passengers can pay Rs 10 for charging their phones for one hour. This kiosk, which works like an ATM, is available for rupees 10 to the mobile holder,” he said.

HOW IT WORKS
On payment, a printed slip with a barcode will be issued to the passenger. Immediately after that, the passenger can charge his phone by using the specific charging slot allocated to him in which passenger can keep his mobile for charging. After the charging is done, the barcode should be scanned to open the locker and remove the phone from it.
