Pune: Start COVID Center in Bibwewadi immediately, demands MLA Madhuri Misal

Pune: Considering the growing numbers of COVID-19 cases in Bibwewadi area, a request has been made for an immediate arrangement of an additional 110 bed COVID care centre. The demand was put forth by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Madhuri Misal, to the Maharashtra State Workers Insurance Scheme to treat patients infected with the COVID-19.

On Monday MLA Misal along with Pune District Collector, Naval Kishore Ram and the new Pune Municipal Corporation's Commissioner Vikram Kumar inspected the facilities while checking the preparation for the hospital in the area. Tehsildar Trupti Kolte Patil, Dr Sunil Jagtap were also present at the location.

Speaking to Sakal Times MLA Madhuri Misal said, "Currently, there are 110 beds of which the Intensive Care Unit has 10 beds. There are two beds for surgery and four beds for post-operative treatment. There are 31 beds for the neonatal intensive care unit and if needed can be used for the patient intensive care unit. Oxygen facilities and all other systems required for a ventilator and operation."

Adding to the information, Misal said, "Facilities like COVID tests, segregation room etc need to be provided in this centre so that the treatment can be a provided at one place itself and during emergency also treatment can be given at this centre that will save time and energy. So I have been pursuing continuously and demanded administration should take immediate steps to start this center facility."

Talking about the status of the care centre, District Collector Naval Kishor Ram said to MLA Misal, "The district administration will do its utmost to provide all the medical services and facilities required for the treatment of COVID 19 and assured that the work of the hospital would be completed expeditiously."
