Pune: SP Sandeep Patil gives stern warning to dishonest men in khaki; suspends two, terminates two indulging in malpractices

Pune: Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Patil, who is known for his conscientiousness, has given a stern warning to the dishonest men in khaki by suspending two and terminating other two police personnel from Junnar and Shirur taluka who had indulged in malpractices in the last four months.

Several policemen in the rural police department were turning a blind eye to the illegal trade and businesses operating in their jurisdictions. Some of them took bribes to not take action while some police personnel falsely implicated the complainant in cases. SP Sandeep Patil's action against such corrupt officers has given a stern message to such officers and in the constabulary too.

Shirur Police Station Constable Kishor Dnyandev Dhavade was arrested by Narayangaon Police on April 11 at Manjarwadi in Junnar taluka in connection with a Gutkha transportation case. Gutkha packets and a car worth Rs 30,000 were seized from his possession. The incident had a severe repercussion as police personnel was arrested in connection with the smuggling of gutka during the lockdown period. On April 12, SP Patil dismissed Dhavade from the service.

On August 11 the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Narayangaon Police Station Assistant Inspector Arjun Ghode Patil and Constable Dharmatma Karbhari Hande for soliciting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for not arresting two suspects and filing the charge sheet in the court as soon as possible for the convenience of the accused. In this case, too SP Patil took immediate action and suspended Hande from service, while Ghode Patil was suspended from service yesterday August 12.

SP Patil has also suspended police constable Hemant Pandurang Naik on August 12 on charges of trying to hide illegally transported sand by spreading crushed sand inside the sand truck which was parked inside the premises of Shikrapur police station.
