Pune sees light rains and increased temperature

PUNE: The city witnessed drizzling in some parts on Wednesday. The day temperature of the city reached 30.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature hovered over 19.2 degrees, which made Christmas one of the warmest winter days in recent years.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature is expected to remain high
till December 29.”

Interestingly, last year on the same day, the temperature was hovering over 10 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday the lowest minimum temperature in the State was recorded at Gondia 14.9 degrees Celsius, while the highest minimum temperature was recorded in Alibaug at 24.6 degrees Celsius.

The low-pressure belt over the Arabian Sea and the circulatory winds have kept winter at the bay.

According to IMD, light to very light rain is expected in the city.

Similarly, on December 26, the entire State, along with Goa, will receive light rains. Likewise, from December 27 to 29 Central Maharashtra and Marathwada will receive light rains, while the weather in Goa and Vidarbha will remain clear.
