Pune Road Runners team hosts promo run 

Pune: The Pune Road Runners team organised a training and promo run on Sunday for the citizens to get ready for the Pune Half Marathon, which will be held on October 7.
 
During the promo event, the team dressed in typical Puneri style with the female runners wearing a 9-metre-long sari and male runners Puneri Pagdi, kurta and dhoti. 

The team was joined by ace filmmaker, educationist and showman Subhash Ghai to run with them and inspire them to participate in the Pune Half Marathon. He interacted with the local runners and told them about the benefits of regular running and exercise. He requested runners to register for the Pune Half Marathon that is happening on the October 7. 

Pune Road Runners spokesperson Rohit Roy said, “The run is to celebrate the homecoming of Lord Ganesh and also give a message about fitness and exercise to the community 
in a unique Puneri way during this festive season.” 

The team is using this event as a means to donate a portion of the ticket sales to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. 

Pune Road Runners Member and event organiser Manoj Thakur said, “As per the dire need of this hour, Pune Half Marathon is committed towards the cause of much-needed relief work in the flood-affected state of Kerala.” 

The event is spreading awareness about inclusivity for disabled people and helping raise charity for the Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF). The organisers have appealed that citizens who wish to join this initiative and support the noble cause to register for Pune Half Marathon on their website www.punehalfmarathon.in and run together.
