Pune records 40.7oC: IMD

PUNE: The city recorded 40.7 degrees Celsius temperature on Thursday. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at Chandrapur at 45.2 degrees Celsius.

Other cities in Marathwada, central Maharashtra and Vidarbha also recorded temperature above 40 degrees. 

The lowest minimum temperature recorded in the state was at 19.7 degrees Celsius at Nashik on Thursday.

IMD has forecast rain along with thunderstorm in central Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Marathwada till April 15.

IMD also predicted that Pune city will experience day temperature around 39 degree Celsius by the end of this week. The sky will remain cloudy during the same time.

NATIONAL SCENARIO
On Thursday, heat wave conditions prevailed at a few places over west Rajasthan and at isolated places over east Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh.

IMD has forecast that till April 15, thunderstorm accompanied with squally winds and lightning at isolated places likely over Assam and Meghalaya. 

Also, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning at isolated places likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and north interior Karnataka.

During the same time, IMD has forecast thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm and lightning at isolated places likely over Marathwada and Vidarbha.
