Pune railway division kicks off ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign

Pune: The Pune railway division has started ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign on Saturday with all railway employees, including school children, scouts and guides, several NGOs and others institutions. A comprehensive campaign is being organised at all stations, platforms, trains, premises and offices of the railway division. The cleanliness drive will run till October 2.

During a special function, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Milind Deouskar made the staff and their family members to take a pledge to keep stations, platforms, trains, and railway premises clean. During the function, Additional DRM Praful Chandra, President of Women Social Service Oraganisation of Division Seema Deouskar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Krishnath Patil, officers of division, employees, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and others were present.

The Swachhata Hi Seva movement aims at boosting public participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and is being organised in the run-up to the fourth anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2 next month, which will also mark the commencement of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi.
Under this fortnight cleanliness drive, several works will be carried out along with the passengers, NGOs, scouts and guides, schools, colleges and others at all stations.

To create awareness about cleanliness, the division will distribute pamphlets to passengers, put banners and posters at platforms and all station premises. Seminars and nukkad nataks will also be organised.
