Pune: Private offices reopen with 10 per cent staff

Pune: From Monday number of restaurants, offices, shopping malls and places of worships were reopened after two months while extra caution remains to be the top priority for all. Hence, Pune's private workplaces have also followed the same suit and reopened on Monday. After state’ ‘Mission Begin Again’ launched on Monday, many private offices in Pune reported a maximum 10 per cent staff.

With companies taking care of their employees, every employer, employee and even the visitor will have to be on their toes to prevent the spread of the infection.

In the wake of the new development, Pune Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad said that essential steps should be taken by the offices to run from their respective workplaces. People have to make sure that they take proper care before resuming work.

Offices on Monday saw many employees resuming their desks after months. Everyone in the office has asked to follow the norms of social distancing.

Akshay Kolhatkar, an employee of an IT firm, said, “My Company has started working and many have joined the office. Many of my colleagues have gone to their native places. Therefore, they opted to work from home due to which, there is no compulsion of coming to the office for doing work.”

WORK IN SHIFTS

After the permission, if all the workers joined the work then following physical distancing will be almost impossible. So at such places work is going on in shifts, which are helpful for maintaining norms of physical distancing and also completing intended work.

Suresh Patil, the Director of Tirupati Group said, “Our offices have started working from today. Only 10 per cent workers out of total strength are coming for work. In that also, work has started in two shifts. To avoid the spread of COVID-19, all the precautionary measures are taken.”

STRICT CHECKING AND THERMAL SCANNING

All the workers and employees are checked at the gates of offices. At many places, disinfectant spraying systems are installed. After measuring the temperature, people having masks are only allowed for admission. Disinfectant spraying is also done on the vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

  • Checking the temperature of all employees at all the entrances.
  • The changed sitting arrangement as per the physical distancing norms.
  • Bottle of sanitiser on each table.
  • Disinfectant spraying of vehicles and toilets.
  • Preference to a conversation on phone and email instead of meetings.
