Pune police seeks feedback from citizens on policing in 2019

PUNE: Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham on Saturday appealed Punekars to send their feedback about their expectations from Pune city police in 2019.

Venkatesham said that several initiatives were implemented in 2018 including police kaka in schools, buddy cops for working women, visitors management at police station, fast passport verification, co-ordination meetings with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) etc.

“We have taken several steps for crime prevention, detection as well as bringing traffic discipline. Now we want feedback from people as what are their expectations from us in the new year”, he added.

The commissioner appealed people that they should celebrate new year on 31st December night with responsibility and make sure that others are not harassed. There will be heavy police bandobast (about 6000 personnel) and strict action will be taken against those driving under influence of alcohol.

DCP (traffic) Tejaswi Satpute said, “There will checkpoints at 44 locations. We have distributed adequate number of breath analyzers to check drunk driving. Earlier this week we had taken action against 500 persons for drunk driving.”
