Pune Police issues COVID-19 advisory for residential societies

Pune: Pune City Police Commissioner K Venkatesham issued an advisory for housing societies to curtail the spread of novel coronavirus.

“The advisory is based on some best practices which are already followed by some residential societies. The similar advisory will be declared in next three-four days,” K Venkatesham said on Monday. The people living in the societies, apartment and residential complexes have been requested to follow the guidelines.

  • Every person should use a mask.
  • Compulsory temperature checking. Every individual’s temperature should be recorded when entering the premises.
  • Restrooms, elevators should be sanitised regularly
  • Installation of washbasin and sanitiser stand near the entry gate and elevator.
  • Oxygen level should be checked using an oximeter of every individual entering the society. If the temperature is observed less than 95 degrees, the person should be examined.
  • Avoid over-crowding. Keep a safe distance of 2 metres while walking in the premises of the society.
  • Instructions of isolation should be implemented if the individual has travelled all way from any foreign country.
  • The advisory also states some guidelines for maids. A cloth bag should be given to the maid to keep for their personal belongings including mobile phones and keys.
  • All the maids have been asked to wash their face and hands with soap.
  • Use of mask is mandatory for maids.
  • Milk delivery person, newspaper delivery boy also need to undergo a screening test before entering the premises.
  • All maids, security guards and drivers should be allowed only if they belong from non-containment zones.
  • Only pre-monsoon work will be allowed.
  • Reconstruction or new constructions should not be permitted.
  • Proper care should be taken of the individuals who are suffering from cancer, high blood pressure and heart problems.
  • Do not stigmatise the patients of COVID-19 or their family members.

Meanwhile, 12 people lost their lives on Monday in Pune Metropolitan region taking the death toll to 604. On the front of the new case, Pune city reported 203 cases on Monday followed by 128 in Pimpri Chinchwad municipal limits.
