Pune: Police Commissioner K Venkatesham has dismissed one Assistant Police Inspector and stopped increment of one Police Inspector, Assistant Police Inspector and Police Sub-Inspector who were found guilty on various charges during the internal inquiry conducted against them.

In the Hadapsar police station case, Assistant Police Inspector Dattatreya Rajaram Madane (36) has been dismissed from service after he was found guilty of entering into a sexual relationship with a divorced woman who had approached him for filing a complaint against her husband. The woman had come to Bhekrai Nagar to file the complaint, where Assistant Inspector Madane lured her with the promise of marrying her if she had physical relations with him. Later, Madane refused to marry the woman. The woman felt cheated and filed a complaint against Madane at the Hadapsar police station. While being on duty in uniform, API Madane was asked to change clothes before he could be arrested, However, APIR Madane had fled from the spot then.

In the Vishrambaug police station case, Police Inspector Shreekant Shinde and Assistant Police Inspector Bapu Raykar have been awarded a punishment of no salary increment for three years. Disciplinary action has been taken against the duo in connection with a case where they carried out distrustful investigation. The two officers had kept a SUV and Rs 28 lakh in cash with them and did not include those items as a part of evidence seizure in a cheating case filed at the Vishrambaug police station.

In the Deccan police station case, Police Sub Inspector Santosh Keshav Sonawane has been handed a penalty of three-year increment-stop. PSI Sonawane had received Rs 1 lakh as bribe amount from a suspect in an attempt to murder case registered at the Deccan police station. PSI Sonawane had told the suspect that he will be bailed out if the bribe amount is paid.
