Pune: PMPML not to penalise the Mi-card holder till new passes are issued

PUNE: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has directed all the conductors not to penalise the commuters who have Mi-card (pass), which has been expired on March 31 till they receive the further instructions. The validity of the card has been increased, and the commuters, who have it can commute with it without any extra charge.

"The Mi-card has been given to handicapped, freedom fighters, journalists, senior citizens and others to commute across the city. The yearly card has been given to those for the year 2019-20, but it expired on March 31. The pass holder can't renew it at this moment due to the lockdown. So, all conductors have been instructed not to charge or penalise them (if they are travelling under essential services)," said Anant Waghmare, PMPML Traffic Manager.

According to him, this will continue until further notice by the authorities. Due to the coronavirus lockdown, people working in the essential services are allowed to commute in the city, and several of them are holding the Mi-card.
