Plasma donors were felicitated at the hands of Pune Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham at a function held at the Pune Police Commissionerate Office

Pune: Plasma donors Karan Ranadive, Mohit Nalawade, Rahul Tupe, Vaibhav Lodha, Ajay Munot, Rahul Langar, Jamir Sheikh, Avadhut Divte, Vaibhav Bhakan, Kunal Todi and Mohit Todi were felicitated at the hands of Pune Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham at a function held at the Pune Police Commissionerate Office.

Joint Commissioner of Pune Police Dr Ravindra Shisave, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr Sanjay Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police Virendra Mishra, Sambhaji Kadam, Mitesh Ghatte were present on the occasion.

HOW PLASMA IS ARRANGED

The website http://puneplasma.in was created by the Pune Police to enable Covid-19 patients to register their demand for plasma as well as to provide a platform for plasma donors. This service was started from August 15 for the needy and plasma donors. People who have fully recovered from Covid-19 can donate plasma by registering on this website, while those who need plasma can also register on this website.

Dr K Venkatesham, Commissioner of Pune Police said, “The number of Covid-19 cases has increased in rural areas including Pune. To overcome this, every person who has fully recovered from the Covid-19 should come forward in large numbers and donate plasma. Only then can we save lives. Deputy Commissioner of Police Mitesh Ghatte has created this excellent platform to provide information on plasma donation. Citizens recovered from Covid-19 should respond well to this initiative.”

Dr Ravindra Shisve, Joint Commissioner of Pune Police said, “Plasma donors overcame doubts and donated plasma to save lives. This is a big movement and it should be implemented in rural areas as well as cities. For this, the citizens who have recovered from Covid-19 should take initiative.”

Kartik Naik, a plasma donor said, “Plasma is the soldier that defeats the coronavirus in your body. These soldiers have worked for you. Now they need to be sent to fight against the coronavirus in someone else’s body. This will save the lives of the citizens. I have donated plasma myself, Citizens recovered from Covid-19 should come forward for plasma donation.”
