Pune: PCB, KCB sanitise, spray disinfectants in Cantt area

Pune: The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) and Khadi Cantonment Board (KCB) have started sanitisation and spraying of the disinfectant across the Cantt areas to prevent spreading of coronavirus. Pune, so far, has recorded 20 infected cases of coronavirus.

“On the instructions of Khadki Cantt Board President Brig MJ Kumar, preventive measures are being taken in the Cantt area. We are displaying novel Coronavirus safety precautionary steps on flex/banners at various locations including Gaddiadda area and servants’ quarter at Lakkawada, Laxmi Nagar. In Cantt General Hospital, ten isolation beds are ready, and six bedded quarantine arrangements have been made at KCB guest house”, said KCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pramod Kumar Singh.

In the PCB area, efforts were made to sensitise the general public. “Spraying of disinfectant (Sodium Hypochlorite 1 per cent), washing of roads/footpath/Cantt building etc. We also have distributed pamphlets and leaflets in every ward. Boarding, banners are put up in a prominent location in the Cantt area,” said Amit Kumar, the CEO, PCB.

The PCB officials also conducted door to door survey in the entre Cantt area to ascertain travel history of suspected patients.
