PUNE: As the SpiceJet flight from Goa to Pune got delayed for over two hours, more than 150 passengers were stranded at Goa Airport. The flight was connecting from Pune to Bangalore and thus passengers at Pune Airport too had to wait for more than two hours.
Flight number SG 517 was scheduled to depart from Goa Airport to Pune at 2 pm but it departed at 4.20 pm and arrived at 5.15 pm at Pune Airport instead of 2.55 pm.
A passenger travelling from Goa to Pune said on condition of anonymity that the airline staffer was not informing them properly. However, some passengers had heated arguments with the airline staff at Goa airport.
“The flight was supposed to depart at 2 pm, however, the airline announced that it got delayed by 30 minutes. After which they asked the passengers to queue up for boarding and after 10 minutes they said the flight had been rescheduled for 3.30 pm; delaying it by 1 and a half hours. No proper communication and updates were given by the staff members. They cited technical problems for the delay and their engineers said a few operational checks were required, so it would take one-and-half hours to fix it,” said the passenger.
“Some passengers asked why weren’t they informed earlier about the delay. There was a lady with a baby who complained that she didn’t bring along baby food with her as it was assumed she would reach Pune by 3 pm. Finally, the aircraft departed at 4.20 pm,” she said.
The same flight was to depart from Pune to Bangalore at 3.35 pm but departed at 5.45 pm. The flight was delayed by more than two-and-half hours. The same flight was to depart from Bangalore to Kolkata at 6.10 am but was delayed by 2 more hours.
“SpiceJet flight SG 517 operating between Goa and Pune was delayed due to a technical issue. The flight has departed,” said a SpiceJet spokesperson.
