Pune: MP Supriya Sule visits COVID Care Centre at Narhe to review healthcare facilities

Pune: Member of Parliament Supriya Sule visited Covid Care Centre at Narhe which is being run by Pune Zilla Parishad and reviewed the healthcare facilities and understood the problems of patients admitted there.

The COVID Care Centre has been set up in the premises of Sinhagad Institute at Narhe. While inspecting the centre, Sule inquired about the availability of oxygen beds and other emergency medical facilities for the patients and whether there were any problems of the doctors, nurses and other staff.

Sule also felicitated the doctors, nurses and other staff and appreciated their work. MP Sule had pursued to make a Covid Care Centre for convenience of residents in Khadakwasla area.

Nirmala Pansare, President of Pune Zilla Parishad said, “Various measures are being taken by the Zilla Parishad to curb the spread of coronavirus infections in rural areas. No patient will be deprived of treatment due to lack of hospital beds alone. As a part of these measures, a district cell has been activated.”

Ayush Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad said, “The district cell will be able to get information on whether oxygen and ventilator beds are available in the hospitals in the city authorized by the Zilla Parishad and on what criteria are they available to patients. The district cell can be contacted on 020 26138082 or 26138083. Two Zilla Parishad employees have been deployed for 24 hours at all private hospitals contracted by Zilla Parishad.”

Along with Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, the number of Covid-19 patients in rural areas of the district is increasing every day. In the first two months alone, the total number of Covid-19 patients has risen from 49 to 16,000. Of these, about 11,000 patients have recovered from Covid-19 so far and the remaining 5,000 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Meanwhile, 482 people have died so far due to Covid-19.
