In a shocking incident, a four-year-old daughter was allegedly killed by her mother by strangulation. The irritated mother used a mobile charger wire to strangulate the little girl.

Pune: In a shocking incident, a four-year-old daughter was allegedly killed by her mother by strangulation. The irritated mother used a mobile charger wire to strangulate the little girl. The incident took place at Bhalekar Nagar, Pimple Gurav area in the Pimpri-Chinchwad around 11 am on Monday while the rest of the family was out for final rites of the child’s paternal grandmother.

The police have arrested the 22-year-old mother identified as Savita Deepak Kakade, a resident of Bhalekar Nagar, Pimple Gurav in Sangvi for allegedly killing her daughter, Disha Deepak Kakade. The FIR was filed by the deceased girl’s father and Savita’s husband, Deepak, 25, a driver by profession.

Speaking to Sakal Times, the Senior Police Inspector Ranganath Unde, said, “Complainant Deepak Kakade’s mother has passed away, and the Kakade family had gone to Alandi on Monday morning for their Dasakriya ritual. When the Kakade family returned home around 12, they were shocked to see Disha attacked. Suspect Savita confessed to the crime and informed them that her daughter was causing trouble and she was fed-up with her. The family rushed her to a doctor, who pronounced her dead.

“Prima facie it seems that Savita had hit Disha’s head on the wall or the ground. Later she took the wire from the mobile charger then wrapped around her neck. Disha’s skull has been smashed, and an investigation is underway into how Savita did this act.”

Deepak also has a six-month-old son who was at home when this incident took place. 

"Post the incident, Savita had called someone and had confessed to the crime. So, we are also collecting the technical aspects that are being carried out accordingly. We have arrested Savita and the process of investigation and complainant registration is going on.”
