Pune: More than 33,000 reported coronavirus cases in the division; 20,341 patients cured

Pune: As many as 20,341 COVID-19 positive patients in Pune division have recovered and been discharged, while the number of reported cases in the division has crossed 33,857.

Apart from Pune district, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur are included in the Pune division.

On Sunday, the Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar had held a meeting to address the press. He also shared the divisional coronavirus outbreak issues during the meeting. 

Dr Mhaisekar said, "In Pune division, at present, the number of active cases are around 12,291. A total of 1,225 COVID-19 patients have died. While as many as 617 patients are in the critical condition and the rest are under observation. Out of these, 28,047 infected patients from Pune district and 16,723 patients infected with COVID-19 have recovered and gone home. The number of active patients has reached to 10,467. A total of 857 patients have died in Pune. Also, 463 patients are critical and the rest are under observation. The doubling rate in Pune district is 59.62 per cent."

The total number of infected patients in Pune division has increased by 971 as compared to Saturday's figure. The number of patients has increased to 767 in Pune district, 53 in Satara district, 101 in Solapur district, 13 in Sangli district and 37 in Kolhapur district.

In Satara district, there are total 1,304 infected patients and 784 infected patients have recovered and gone home. The number of active patients is 465. A total of 55 patients have died.

In Solapur district, 3,102 COVID-19 patients have been reported, and 1,834 patients have recovered. The active patient number is 979. A total of 289 patients infected by pandemic have died.

In Sangli district, there are 463 infected patients and 262 infected patients have recovered. The number of active patients is 189. A total of 12 patients infected with the virus have died.

In Kolhapur district, there are 941 reported patients and 738 have reportedly recovered. The number of active patients is now at 191. A total of 12 patients have also died in the district.

Till date, a total of 2,20,407 samples were sent to the department for testing, out of which 1,97,617 have returned with the results. A report on 4,760 samples is awaited. Out of the reports received, 1,63,434 samples were reported negative and 33,857 samples were reported positive.
