Pune: If you want to take admission for any post-graduate courses of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), then today is the last day to do so. According to the revised deadline for submitting applications, August 31 is the last day SPPU will receive applications for the entrance exams for these courses. So far, SPPU has received more than 31,000 applications for various courses.
Various postgraduate courses are conducted by the Pune University and an entrance test is conducted for this. Thousands of students not only from Maharashtra but all over the country, apply for taking admission to these courses. This year, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, not many were sure about how many students would opt for admission in Pune University.
However, after Pune University started inviting online applications, the response for admissions was overwhelming. The University had to extend the deadline for submitting applications twice. The latest deadline was announced as August 10. However, due to the delay in taking decisions about conducting the final year examinations and the continuous inquiries by the students, the date for filling up the applications was again extended up to August 31.
So far, about 31,000 applications have been received for this entrance test. This year, the online exam will be conducted in the first week of September using the proctored system. As Monday is the last day to apply for the entrance test, interested students should fill up the application form from the website www.unipune.ac.in. Detailed information about this process is given on the website.
This is the second year of an online admission process being implemented by the SPPU. Pune University had announced admissions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2020-21. In view of the COVID-19 outbreak in the city, it was expected that less number of students would apply for admissions to courses in the SPPU this year. Contrary to this anticipation, SPPU has confirmed 27,787 applications against intake of 5,569 available seats across the streams and levels.
