Pune: High Flow Nasal Oxygen machines donated to COVID-19 hospitals in city

Pune: In view of the present shortage of oxygenated and ventilator beds in several hospitals in the city, Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) has donated 12 High-Flow Nasal Oxygen (HFNO) machines to these dedicated Covid-19 hospitals as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.

MMF is also a part of the guiding council for Samarth Bharat Rebuilding Mission, an initiative of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which will set-up nine COVID Care Centres along with skill development, counselling and other initiatives in the city.

Ritu Prakash Chhabria, Managing Trustee of Mukul Madhav Foundation – the CSR partner of Finolex Industries Limited – said, “From individuals to our economy everyone is suffering due to COVID-19. We have wholeheartedly supported Corona Warriors on several fronts to battle the pandemic, including the Samarth Bharat Rebuilding Mission.”

“MMF had consulted professionals from the medical fraternity, authorities, and those that are working in the social arena to ascertain the most important need that will arise, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering these needs we have donated 12 HFNO machines for several dedicated COVID hospitals in Pune city. Also, we have given pulse oximeters worth Rs 1.2 lakh to Bharati Hospital,” she added.

Earlier, the foundation has provided life-saving medical equipment like masks, sanitisers, PPE suits, and various other requirements to the Sassoon General Hospital, a government-run hospital. Punyadham Ashram for senior citizens, HIV positive women support groups, other self-help groups, and skilling centres supported by the foundation have donated handmade masks to Sassoon, police department, ASHA ANM nurses in primary health centres, newspaper vendors and journalists and migrant families.

Finolex collaborated with Science and Technology Park, Pune and provided Scitech Airon Ion Generators which helped in controlling the virus, bacteria, and fungal infections in a closed environment. Four hospitals and 32 major police stations have been supported by these. MMF foundation has also supported JanKalyan Raktapedhi by providing funds for plasma therapy. In collaboration with Sassoon, three blood donation camps have been conducted at Lohegaon and Vishrantwadi where 153 units of blood have been collected.
