Pune: Emphasise to make Manjari Budruk 100 percent COVID-10 free, says District Collector

“The COVID-19 cases are rising in urban as well as rural areas of Pune. The administration is strictly enforcing the rules laid down by the government to make Manjari Budruk village 100 per cent coronavirus-free,” said Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram on Saturday.

A review meeting was held on Saturday at Krishnaji Khanduji Ghule Vidyalaya in Manjari Budruk of Haveli taluka under the chairmanship of District Collector Naval Kishore Ram on the backdrop of increasing coronavirus.

The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chetan Tupe, Deputy Divisional Officer Sachin Barawakar, Tehsildar Sunil Koli, Group Development Officer Prashant Shirke, Hadapsar Police Station Inspector Ramesh Sathe, Assistant Inspector of Police Manoj Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Kalyanrao Vidhate, Taluka Health Officer Dr Sachin Kharat, Medical Officer Dr Manisha Deshpande, Sarpanch Shivraj Ghule, Deputy Sarpanch Suvarna Kamthe, Gramsevak Madhukar Date, Coordinator AB More were present during the meeting.

District Collector Naval Kishore Ram said, "The number of COVID-19 patients is increasing in Pune district. The district administration is taking measures to prevent the spread of the virus. As infection is on the rise in rural as well as urban areas, the village level administration of Manjari Budruk should strictly enforce the rules laid down by the government as a precautionary measure. If a coronavirus infected patient is found in the village, those who come in contact with the patient should be immediately traced and a list should be prepared and sent to the lab for sample testing. Those with a negative report should be sent home with a Home Quarantine stamp upon receipt of the sample inspection report."

He further mentioned, "The arrangements should be made as soon as possible for maximum ventilator beds and ICU beds at Vishwaraj Hospital at Loni Kalbhor for critically ill patients with corona. The district administration will provide necessary assistance for this. Those with quarantine should be examined daily with an oximeter.”

“If anyone in the village does not follow the rules, they should be prosecuted. The village-level administration should keep the village statistics updated on a daily basis. Also, special attention should be paid to the restricted area of this village. If there is a need for masks, sanitisers, maintaining social distancing and more," he added.

MLA Chetan Tupe said, "It would be better if farmers were given a place in the market committee for business. We will all work together for the prevention of corona. Emphasis should be placed on finding those who come in contact with the Corona victims, which will definitely bring to curb the virus and make this area free from COVID-19 and also Pune and Maharashtra free from this virus spread.”
