Pune District Collector appeals to people to contact district collectorate for helping migrant labourers

Pune: While district collector Naval Kishore Ram has appreciated the efforts taken by a section of society by feeding hungry people during the 21-day lockdown, he has also appealed to people to avoid mass gathering and follow social distancing norms to help fight COVID-19.

Ram assured that though some inconvenience is caused to labourers, and daily wage earners, the district administration is working on plans to provide food and other necessary things to such people.

He said Tehsildar Trupti Kolte is looking after the issue and various NGOs and other organisations who wish to come forward and help such people can contact Kolte so that a systematic plan can be made to avoid mass gathering while distributing food packets to these people.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is providing temporary shelters to homeless people near Yerwada, Pune station, Bopodi and Shastri road.
