Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar assures distribution of 20 and 40 per cent grant to eligible aided-schools

Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has instructed the primary education director to create a 'roll of names' of aided schools eligible for 20 and 40 per cent grant within two months. These schools will receive their grant immediately, once the roll of names process is completed, assured Pawar.

A meeting under the chairmanship of Pawar was conducted on the issue of distribution of 20 and 40 per cent grant to eligible aided-schools. State Primary Education Director Dattatray Jagtap was present for the meeting. The Finance Ministry brought various procedural issues which created hurdles in the distribution of grants to the eligible aided schools. One of these issues was that the 'roll of names' of such eligible aided schools was not available. During this meeting, Pawar instructed Jagtap to create the roll of names of all schools declared eligible and also others who are eligible for the grants.

Jagtap further instructed his officials to create the roll of names of aided schools within two months. This role will be cross verified from the education commissioner office. Once this process is completed, distribution of grants to the eligible schools will be done, said Jagtap.

Jagtap said, "All Deputy Directors of the Education department and Primary Education Officers of Zilla Parishad have been instructed to take initiative in creating the roll of names of eligible aided schools at the earliest."
