Pune: Coronavirus patients cross the 7,000 mark in Pimpri Chinchwad

Pune: In Pune's twin City of Pimpri-Chinchwad, additional 318 new patients were traced, while 312 patients got discharge, on Sunday. The number of patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation are increasing drastically.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation commissioner Shravan Hardikar speaking to Sakal Times said, "Do not get out of homes needlessly. Coronavirus is likely to increase during the rainy season. If you see symptoms of cold, cough, fever, go to the doctor immediately. Do not come out until fully recovered. Must use regular mask and maintain Social distancing."

The Health Department has appealed to keep additional masks nearby or in pocket, as due to possibility of heavy rains there are chances of masks getting wet. So spear mask must be kept always.

On Sunday, eight patients died in Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation, three of them were from Beed, Marunji and Dehurod respectively.

Those who died included residents who were mostly 60 years old. Residents of Akurdi were 43-year-old and 68-year-old, Sangvi resident 57-year-old, Marunji resident 48-year-old, Beed resident 95-year-old. While resident of Charoli and Dehuroad were 61 and 46-year-old respectively.

Reports of the 17 patients from Pune and other outskirts admitted to hospitals in Pimpri Chinchwad were also positive.

The total number of positive patients in Pimpri Chinchwad reached 7,276.
So far, 4,312 residents of Pimpri Chinchwad and 358 residents of Pune and other non-Pimpri Chinchwad residents have been discharged after the treatment of coronavirus.

There has been 146 deaths so far in Pimpri Chinchwad due to the outbreak. This included 107 patients from Pimpri Chinchwad and 39 patients from Pune rural and other areas.

Treatment of 2,465 positive patients is going on in Pimpri Chinchwad.

Treatment of 17 patients from Pimpri Chinchwad and 184 from Pune continues.
