Pune class 11 admission: Students brave through challenges of slow speed, site crashing while filling online form

Pune: The first year junior college (class 11) online admission process has been marred with several technical flaws and problems faced by students and their parents while applying for admission. The server is crashing down while paying the application fee, which has got the students and parents worried whether the form will be accepted or rejected.

The form 1 filling stage of online admissions for class 11 began on Saturday (August 1). Since the first day, students and parents have queued up to fill the admission application forms and submit them in time. When the students and parents tried to access and open the website for filling the form, they experienced very slow speeds and the site crashed frequently. Some students managed to fill the application form but while paying the fee, the server response was poor and the payment was not accepted.

Meena Shendkar, Secretary, Class 11 Admission Monitoring Committee said, “We are going to launch a mobile application for class 11 online admission soon. We are testing the mobile app functionality as of now. This app will be accessible to students when the form 2 filing stage of the online admission begins.”

State education minister Varsha Gaikwad inaugurated the portal https://11thadmission.org.in on Saturday afternoon for class 11 admissions. In view of the Covid-19 outbreak this year, the education department has introduced a completely online admission process for students in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Amravati regions. More than 1.92 lakh students across the state have registered on the portal until Saturday evening. Out of these, over 1.72 lakh students are from the state board schools.

“We understand the challenges before students and have simplified the process for admissions. We have tried to address the glitches reported in the previous years to make the process smooth,” said Gaikwad while inaugurating the website.
