Pune: City witnesses two separate suicides in span of six hours

The police added, “However, as there was no response from the flat, his friends forcefully opened the door and entered the house. They were shocked to see him strangulated from the. We suspect it is a suicide and we are investigating the case to find out the reason of his suicide."

Pune: The shocking series of suicides continues to hit Pune. A 20-year-old youth committed suicide at his resident in Narhe on Thursday.

The police have identified the deceased as Yash Shivaji Khopade (20), a resident of Vetalbaba Chowk in Bhairavnath Nagar in Narhe, Pune. A case of suicide has been filed at Sinhagad Road police station which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city police commissionerate.

According to the police officials, “Yash was pursuing his graduation in a city based college. Three days back, he had shifted to a rental flat in Radhe Apartment near JSPM college in Narhe. Apart from the academics, he loved to play drums and had a hobby of painting. On Wednesday night, Yash took the key to the flat from a friend and went there claiming he wanted to paint. The nearby local resident and neighbours noticed him entering the flat around 9.30 pm on Wednesday. Friends knocked the door of the flat around 10 am on Thursday as he did not return back home.”

The police added, “However, as there was no response from the flat, his friends forcefully opened the door and entered the house. They were shocked to see him strangulated from the. We suspect it is a suicide and we are investigating the case to find out the reason of his suicide."

BUSINESSMAN COMMITS SUICIDE
A Kothrud based businessman jumped from the fifth floor of his flat and committed suicide.

The police have identified the deceased as Ramchandra Laxmanrao Babalatkar (55), a resident of Mukhtai Co-operative housing society.

According to police, "Deceased Ramchandra is a builder by profession. He stays near the vicinity of Ashish Garden. He stayed on the fifth floor along with his wife and son. He hails from Solapur and was also suffering from Diabetics. Still the reason of his death is unclear and we are probing. We have not even recovered any suicide note.”
