Pune: Citizens to face traffic diversions in Shivajinagar due to metro project work

Pune: The traffic regulation branch of Pune police have diverted vehicular traffic from Shivajinagar towards Narveer Tanaji (Na.Ta.) Wadi from Saturday and have appealed to citizens to use alternative routes. This change in the vehicular movement has been done keeping in mind the Pune-metro work that has restarted at Shivajinagar station.

Police have closed the road for traffic coming from Bhausaheb Khude chowk (junction near Indian Meteorological Department popularly known as Simla Office) towards the Shivajinagar ST bus stand and railway station, Narveer Tanaji (Na.Ta.) Wadi. So vehicles coming from Shaniwarwada or Pune Municipal Corporation building through the S. G. Barve junction at the Khude chowk will be diverted on Ganeshkhind road either towards the Pune University junction or Netaji Subhashchandra Bose junction in front of Sancheti Hospital.

Dr Sanjay Shinde, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) said, "Since the metro project work has started in full swing at the Shivajinagar area, we have closed the road completely for vehicular traffic. Citizens should use alternative routes to reach their destination and cooperate with the police."
