Pune: Bhosari police nab five murder suspects fleeing to Latur

Pune: Bhosari police nabbed five men on Pune-Solapur highway near Patas toll plaza while they were trying to flee to Latur after allegedly murdering their friend over the previous enmity and brawl over getting a tattoo inked on his hand. Police located and chased the suspects on Sunday (August 9) early morning and arrested them later.

Police have identified the deceased person as Mayur Haridas Madke (26), resident of Markal road in Alandi. He was a criminal-on-police-record. Mayur’s friends and suspects in his murder case are identified as Roshan Hari Saudatkar, a resident of Dighi road in Bhosari, Mangesh Shukracharya More, a resident of Latur, Pranesh Chandrakant Ghorpade, a resident of Vijay Nagar in Dighi, Shubham Balram Wani, a resident of Chaudhari Park in Dighi and Vaibhav Tanaji Dhore, residing at Kasewadi in Bhavani Peth of Pune. The suspects have been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.

Bhosari Police Station Senior Inspector Shankar Awatade, Assistant Inspector Siddheshwar Kailase, Police Sub-Inspector Mahendra Gadhave and their team including police constables Ganesh Hinge, Sumeet Devkar, Sameer Raskar, Ashish Gopi, Santosh Mahadik and other laid the trap to nab the suspects on Solapur highway.

According to police, constables Sumeet Devkar and Sameer Raskar received a tip-off that the suspects were trying to escape from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area to Latur. They traced the location of the suspects on Solapur highway. Immediately a team was formed which chased the suspects and nabbed them near Patas highway.

During the interrogation, suspects revealed that they had a fight with the deceased Mayur Madke over past enmity and a tattoo which he had inked on his hand. They had met on Saturday (August 8) night at around 11 pm on Dighi road. While consuming liquor, the suspects attacked Mayur with a sharp weapon. Mayur succumbed to the injuries on the spot. Fearing arrests, the five suspects fled from the spot and decided to head towards Latur.
