Pune: Amid technical snags, 2,500 state HSC board students apply for marks verification

Pune: A day after the results of Class 12 examinations conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education were declared, about 2,500 students have applied for verification of marks, photocopy and revaluation of answer sheets amid various technical snags on the website.

Around 14.13 lakh students had appeared for the class 12 examinations conducted by nine divisions of the board - Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Kokan - just before the COVID-19 outbreak started in the state.

The board had asked students to apply for marks verification, revaluation and photocopies of their answer sheets immediately after the results were declared. Out of these, the deadline for marks verification is just 10 days (up to July 27) and for getting photocopies of answer sheets is 20 days (up to August 5). To get these online applications registered, students had to visit a link http://verification.mh-hsc.ac.in and apply on their own or through the school or junior college. The board is charging a fee of Rs 50 per subject which is to be paid online through a Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI or Net-banking.

When students and parents logged in into the portal, they faced several problems like site crashing, slowing down of the site, failed payments and unprocessed applications. The board had displayed the number 020-25705207 and email support@msbshse.ac.in for applicants to contact if they face any technical problem. Parents contacted the board and brought these problems to their notice. After several calls and follow-ups, the technical snags were addressed and the site functioned normally.

Dr Shakuntala Kale, President, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said, "We had for the first time made available an online application facility for verification of marks and photocopy of answer books. Initially, there were some technical problems faced by the students and parents, but now they have been addressed. Some parents had complained about the site getting crashed while making the payment for an online application. Now that problem has also been solved. Till Friday evening we have received more than 2500 online applications from the students."
