Pune: 750 litres of adulterated ghee worth Rs seven lakh seized

Two persons for running impure ghee productions units in the region were arrested by Pune Police

Pune: The Crime Branch of Pune City Police and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in a joint operation held two persons for running impure ghee productions units in the region.

The two men have been identified as Sohil Mehendi Bhanodiya and Dinesh Mehandi Bhanodiya.

Pune Police have detained 750 litres of ghee from Wadgaonsheri where the two spaces were reserved for the storage. The raw material, equipment and ghee was seized during the raid is estimated to be worth Rs seven lakh.

Hindustan Times quoted, Bachchan Singh, deputy commissioner of police, Crime saying, “On receiving input regarding some people indulging in manufacturing of adulterated ghee, anti-narcotics (west) team co-ordinated with Food and Drug Association (FDA) and raided the place and arrested two people. Seizure of 750 litres ghee worth Rs 7 lakh was done. Further legal action is going on.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale and DCP Bachchan Singh by a team led by Police Inspector Rajendra Mohite. PSI Nilesh Mahadik, and police personnel Manoj Shinde, Mahesh Kadam, Firoz Bagwan, Mangesh Pawar, Pramod Tilekar, Amol Pilane, Pradip Gade, Sahil Shaikh, Rupali Karnwar and Mohan Yelpale were the part of the raid.
